It's the news we've been waiting 10 years to hear.....Wallander is back!  That's right, our favourite fictional detective Kurt Wallander is back in a new (and apparently last in the series) novel by Henning Mankell.  The hardback is due out in March, however check back here soon as our review of the book will be posted shortly.  Believe us when we say you won't be dissapointed!

Just a quick note to bring you some news on one of our favourite authors - Nicci French. This fabulous writing team of Nicci Gerrard and Sean French have launched their new website www.niccifrench.co.uk . We've had a look and think it's great! As you would expect it features News, Reviews, and backlist information but it also contains some of the best competitions around (the current one is a trip to New York!) and a blog by both Nicci and Sean.

One of the delights of working in the book industry is the weird and wonderful book launches publishers throw for their authors. Here at Soho Noir we've had the pleasure of attending a number of these, some would say that we really have attended the opening of an envelope but we say, what better way to spend an evening than becoming inebriated on our two favourite pleasures: writing and fine red wine? On one murderous occasion we attended a gloriously sinister evening of crime writers gathering together to read from their works in a beautiful hidden away church in East London. To get into our crime underworld we entered through a doorway from an equally eerie yard - that yard being Bleeding Heart, the notorious and unchanged cobbled courtyard of yesteryear. Infamous because of its ghostly happenings! Little did we know that a couple of years later, Andrew Taylor would be writing a novel on the same place. But write it he did and we loved it so much we reviewed it - navigate your way to our musings of 'Bleeding Heart Square' on our Reviews page. Here at Soho Noir, we highly recommend going down to your local bookstore and picking up a copy (you're sure to love it as much as we did). J&M x
